Bean Bags and More Bean Bags

Magnolia, Texas's 20th Annual Depot Day is coming up and I made 25 bean bags for the Carnival Games that my husband and I made. It was quite a bit of work but a lot of fun. First I made the shells- I stitched three sides, filled them with 2 cups of beans and sealed the last edge
I made sure all the edges were sealed then cut the polka dot fabric for the outside fabric. I sewed the first three edges of those, then my daughter helped me stuff them, which was nice because it cut some time down. Then I folded the last edge inside and stitched it closed with a zig zag stitch
I think they came out super cute don't you?

Depot Day Carnival Games

The city I live in has a Depot Day every year. This is the 20th annual event and I am chairing it. I came up with the idea of old fashioned carnival games that the kids could play. These are some my husband and I created. I had a couple friends help with the painting. This one was done by my son's friend from High School.

She also drew and painted this one. Very cute. It will work for a bean bag toss or a photo op for younger children.

A few of the local schools are going to sponsor a game. That is exciting. I love community involvement.

This is one of my favorites. I hope to make some yellow and red bean bags for the game and have some painted cans to knock down

This one we will probably cut a hole in the blue portion and then use waffle balls to throw through

You should see how big this truly is. It will work great with some Bean Bags.

This is for a dum dum pull. We need to drill the holes still.

This one is for a Ring Toss, it will have a stand and then be in a bucket of sand.

This is a Ring Toss game. It will be lots of fun also.

Depot Day

I am very excited to be chairing this years Depot Day in Magnolia. I wanted to make it a little more old fashioned so I am having some wonderful people help me create some old fashioned games. The Depot was the center of this little town many years ago. Without the train line this town may never have become what it has. Therefore some of the games will have a train theme. It will take lots of work to create each of these games, it will also take many volunteers. I wish my mom was here, I know she would have had so many ideas! The 20th Annual Depot Day will be April 20th, 2013 from 10-5 this year. Please pray for it to be a huge success.

I have some great ideas on pinterest as well.
