Spring Cleaning in the Winter

Children are a gift from the Lord; They are a reward from Him.
Psalm 127:3

So my husband re worked my side of the closet since he has half of that space as well as his. That meant for the last couple weeks this is how we have lived, off tables. I will be honest it has been driving me crazy.
I had moved the supplies from my quilting area to the bedroom at Christmas to provide space for us to set up the table to play games, watch tv etc. We don't have couches so it is quite an interesting way to spend time together.
He had finished up the rods for me, and I noticed already Jakob's clothes on my side. I guess that SPOKE volumes.
I worked all day going through everything and my side is done. I also worked on the inner area of the closet that was intended by the previous owners as a bathroom. We just turned it into my quilting and other "stuff" storage area.
This is how his side looked when he came home. I was praying he would be inspired, since I was up since 2 just distraught at the crazy insane mess we were living in.
I was really hoping he would actually go through this as well and I could have some of my shelves back. Really all he did was straighten it all.
I did find a problem with so many quilts the last two years. I have mountains of batting that I need to maybe make rag quilts with. Its not enough for Tshirt or Baby quilts so I need a good idea. I doubt I would make much selling boxes of batting scraps.
So for the record he was inspired this is now his side of the closet and he let me store Jakob's Letterman's jacket on his side as long as all his jackets were able to be in the back hall way. I guess its a good compromise.
I even have most of the bedroom finished up. I really need to take time to have him make the wood framing for windows, doors, and the baseboards. When I had to redo all the walls this summer due to mold that all was removed but we have never had time to cut new boards.
Now if I could figure out how to maneuver the room. I will be honest, its bad enough my daughters study area is in our room, his gun cabinet doesn't brighten my day. I am super thankful for all the energy to get so much accomplished. Now I need to work on my quilt order. Its a good thing I only have two.

Kitchen Organization

Our kitchen is fairly small and it doesn't have a pantry. I really love this for all our pots, pans, cookie sheets etc.
What is great is you would never know it contains kitchen items

Thoughts on Weekly and Monthly Planning

The plans of the heart belong to man,
but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
but the Lord weighs the spirit.
Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established. —Proverbs 16:1-3

New Beginnings for 2012 mean planning more. I also want to be a little "over" organized. This is an example. We have been freezing our salsa for a year now, it works out great. We have learned an important organization lesson besides putting the date on it, which we do- to tag it as great, decent, okay. That way I know to use certain batches for beans, or for regular eating. Good lesson to learn.
Another that we started this week is sorting out the meat as we buy it by not only the purchase date but the meal it is intended for and the date of it. That is where planning a little in advance really helps out. I love the idea of planning a month in advance because we can watch the sales a little more.
The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps.
—Proverbs 16:9

I admit that last week the menu got used every night, we did swap meals twice, once out of time for people being home to eat it and the other due being busy. We did still eat every meal of the week though.
The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance,
but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.
—Proverbs 21:5

I love my new planning menus. They have a menu on one side and a grocery list on the other. I have learned I can write the two or three items I need for that night right next to it. This week I also added in the menu box if we had the particular meat, which freezer it was in etc. I even was able to list that we had frozen shredded cheese to the menu box, so that I would not purchase more this month.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
—Proverbs 19:21
I am praying as we continue to follow some biblical principles and grow more in our organizational methods that we will live a little easier and become more efficient with our finances.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
—Jeremiah 29:11

Home Improvements

As you know we have been working on Mekenzei's Room- Remodeling, and  I am leaning toward modern dining room furniture
As you know we have been building most everything in her room so far. We did break down and purchase the daybed frame. I was looking at wall units on CSNStores.Com for inspiration and I found a few to draw from. Our biggest goal is organization and storage.
This is one on their site that is very simple
This one is a little more complex
This one I could see meeting her needs for a very long time.
They would all go very well with her newly stained and finished woodfloors and baseboards.
Wonder what we will decide.
‘And as a side note CSN Stores has over 200 online stores where you can find everything from modern dining room furniture to cute cookware to chic lighting pieces!’
