Camp Graduation Got Heart Quilt

This is my first 2016 Graduation Order
I love the idea that they are all camp Tshirts for this quilt.
I was able to take some front logos and a side piece and add a little extra to preserve some memories.
She had lots of autographs on her shirts but they were unsure how well they would hold up over time, so we just used the main parts of the shirts to create this Twin Size Tshirt Quilt.

Track Season 2016

First Track meet was rough. Zekaryah had been out the week before two days with a stomach bug, so he didn't get much running in and then the week of the meet he was out a few days from giving blood and church. He ran the 800 and the 4 by 4 races.
It was so COLD~~~ He ran so well in the 800, however after the race he collapsed, in that seizure like episode he has. He came to after a couple minutes and then was fine. He ate, felt better and ran the 4 by 4. Their team came in first. The coach said he has never seen anything quite like it or him. I am so thankful he listened to us and let him run. It is scary at times but he knows his body and he had one of his best times, despite the odds.

Medical Frustrations

Its frustrating not knowing how to help your child medically. We had such a good cross country season. I think he had two episodes all season that were pretty serious. He had a mock meet for track today. Ran the 400 meter just fine, ran the 200 meter and just didn't feel right, he went down after he finished. I am super thankful for the trainer who is ever so calm, she just calls to let me know, being the end of practice I just met him in the training room and we chatted a bit. Part of me felt he should have eaten after school so that he was ready for the meet. I am thinking he has welding 6th period and it might be a great time to eat something on meet days. We are trying to rework a diet. Its tough when you are so active to keep enough calories in your diet and the right ones too. Its tough also when you are at public school to pack a good lunch full of things that will benefit you and not break the bank. I almost need a job just to pay for breakfast and lunch. It gets expensive.
We are saying prayers for this season. I know he would love to run in college but I am not sure if an athletic department would even consider him. I am not sure if this is something he will out grow or if it is something that he will deal with the rest of his life. So many questions, so few answers and solutions.

University Mary Hardin Baylor College Visit

We had February 15th off from school and University of Mary Hardin Baylor was having a Sader Day so we got a hotel room and made a plan for the first college visit.
Of course it wasn't all fun and games because she had lots to read for both History and Psychology.
It was exhausting to do so much work knowing that she was loosing so much study time on Monday. We took a break and had dinner at Cracker Barrel.
A couple of years ago she learned that their animal science degree is in the "Wells Science Hall" She loves the idea of going here. What was great is she got to visit a Religion Class and a Music Class, she fell in love~
For the first college visit we learned a lot about what they have to offer. She loves the idea of the Christian Campus as well as the small student body size. She really is torn between Vet type schooling and Christian Education. Something to pray about for sure. I am excited that we learned from her brother that we should start these visits junior year. It will give her more options and time to apply for financial assistance as well. If she had to decide today she would go here in a heart beat.

Valentines Day Blessings

Anniversary Card from my husband. I have been having a rough time lately. Its tough not having my mom here, its tough not spending time with family. It seems that most of them are gone now. Its part of life and the role of getting older yet it doesn't make it any easier. I love that my husband, while not really understanding my raw emotion, gets me. Butterflies are a source of comfort.
He had a hard time coming up with the perfect Valentines Day Gift. When my mom passed I stopped using purple in our home. It was tough, I just had a hard time seeing it. Lately it has come back in small pieces. My husband purchased a small bath towel and journal with purple to show I think its time to work on the healing part of this journey, move past some of the grief. I have some really rough mornings, tea is a part of them as I do my devotion it provides warmth in our pretty cold home. It was just sweet a little bit of everything. Taking time to find things I love and add them all together. I love it.
Prayer journals are part of my daily living. Its the best way for me to reflect and be grateful. This one is perfect. It was the very first song I sang in church in elementary school. The nice part is that my husband didn't know that, this is a gift from God. It has butterflies on it and purple flowers to remind me of my commitment to him through confirmation in Jr. High- Simply perfect.

State Celebration at Pep Rally Junior Year

The nice things about daughter being a Historian is that photos typically come from Pep Rally, Credit's go to her. I really see how a better camera would help her in her task. I am praying that we can afford another soon for her. She sure seems to love capturing moments. On a side note we are praying for Zekaryah as he competes at state for Choir in a couple of months. It seems he has major anxiety over the situation and it has increased some seizure activity. I am hoping to help him as he processes all that he has in his mind and encourage those things to be placed at the Lord's feet instead of being carried in his heart.

Interact Class Historian

I love how much she loves to give and lead- she ran for Historian for Interact today and made the cut. I truly wish I could afford to get her a better camera. She sure loves taking pictures. Its on my prayer list and if it is the Lord's Will then it will come to be. She has been the Class of 2017's Historian for three years. She sure enjoys it.
