I was raised in California, but upon meeting my husband 21 years ago, nearly 22, we moved to his Home state of Texas. We have lived in several cities around the Houston area but have had our home here in Magnolia, Texas for nearly 10 years. I love all its hometown feel and personality.

Our town has some of the cutest Boutiques such as Daphney's.
She carries an array of merchandise from clothing and gift items/housewares. I love the location of her store.
It is what our town calls the Magnolia Stroll. It has several shops and food location 

It opens up for city events such as Renaissance through the Stroll, Corks and Canvas, Hometown Christmas, Depot Days etc.  Now truthfully isn't this the cutest little porch area, she sells these little benches made from bed frames, they are darling. 

Our town is not just about food though, its about giving back, this weekend for 9/11 the county commissioner and another group hosted a lunch for first responders to show our appreciation for all they do. Recently they held a Flag Retirement Ceremony and BBQ for Veterans Day to honor members who have served. We have a Hometown Christmas Parade and Event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and our Magnolia Historical Society. There seems to always be an event to go to which celebrates people, is helping someone in some way or is just for entertainment. 
There are so many ways to get involved from local organizations that truly give back, to so many churches. I think the most unique event was this summer when they held a Men and Women in Blue to support our officers. We need more towns like this in America. 

We have an another restaurant that is called La Magnolia it is amazing. It serves Italian food and it is often a date night on Wednesdays while the kids are at church. You can get a Italian dish from the menu, salad, bread, and dessert for $10. Its so much food we always take the dessert home.

One we visit on Sunday mornings for dates is called Kitty's.

She is open for breakfast and lunch and has the best little menu.

I personally go there for breakfast.

My husband is probably the one with the most stained clothes. Most everything is very set in so its difficult to maybe test this detergent for a true accurate account of how well it works with his shirts. When I picked up our son at college I knew this pillow was on my list. I was a little embarrassed to bring it down from his dorm. It is VERY Yellow, and just a little gross honestly. I think going to bed with wet hair probably isn't the best idea.

Surprisingly it is only a year old. I asked him about washing it, he said sure give it a try. He was just going to buy another one.

I washed it with Purex Plus Clorox 2 Stain Fighting Liquid Detergent. I did use hot water in this load with a cold water rinse. It does note on the bottle that you can "Pre-treat tough stains by rubbing some Purex Plus Clorox 2 detergent into the fabric and let it sit for 5 minutes before washing." I think on clothing this would be a great option for those spaghetti sauce, juice, oil stains.

He was amazed that it wasn't yellow anymore. It also smelled wonderful which was great. Constant wet hair smell on a pillow isn't so great. It was gentle enough that it didn't bother the fabric of the pillow like bleach itself might. It really has a bright clean appearance and what I love is that it is safe on colors too, so no bleach spots from the accidental splashing when adding bleach to a laundry load. I can tell you I have a few clothing items from that issue.

Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent works on 100 stains through their stain fighting enzymes. What is nice is that sometimes OXY CLEAN which is used so commonly in detergent can leave my skin feeling itchy. This product doesn't have that issue with its safe bleach additive.

Being a resident in Texas means that spring time is Bluebonnet season. Purex has joined the excitement with this new detergent. I love the scent of this bottle of Purex Fresh Bluebonnet Detergent. It truly reminded me of laundry as a child that was brought in after being hung all day on my grandmother's clothes line outside. It has a fresh scent and is not overpowering scent wise. This is truly important to my family.

I love the simplicity of Purex Crystals for the laundry. I love that I can add the amount that I desire so that my clothes and towels are not too fragrant but if I need a little more than I can add a little more to the load. I have an example of needing a little more long lasting scent- that is my bedding and the dogs bedding.
We have acquired two new great danes, the first was an abandoned dog that a friend found. He escaped after the first night and my children were devastated. I don't know about your family but we do a LOT of laundry in our house. A new Washer and Dryer and a possibility of having a year's worth of Purex in our home would really help us out. I have FOUR coupons to giveaway for this lovely Mother's Day. First let me explain the picture. My daughter just had her 13th birthday and she is very much into wolves lately. I found a vendor on ETSY and purchased her some wolf shirts. However, I had ordered two white and 3 black, well she got all black. When you have these graphic shirts made they require a tad bit more care. You have to turn them inside out and then with black it is nice to have a detergent that will help them from fading since it is especially made for the clothing color. When I was a child I didn't really dream about being a mother. I dreamt of being a mother to lots of other mother's children. I wanted to be in the community helping children and seniors have a better life. To be a role model and an inspiration. My mom volunteered a lot when I was young and she always really tried to be there for people. It has almost been three years without her come June 2013 and not a day goes by that I don't wish I could pick up the phone and call her. She is my inspiration for a lot of what I do in life. I seem to take on huge mountains of opportunity. Recently I ran our town's Depot Day. It was a huge task but I was up for the challenge. So many people criticized my efforts and desires and many said they didn't understand. I seem to be getting that same reaction lately every time I volunteer for anything- from game nights at school to running the 8th grade off campus Tshirts since our school did not have them this year and I had enough students, teachers and parents interested. My life is very different than what I imagined it to be. I have three children of my own- something no one could have told me would come to be and I would have believed it. I take the role of their mother very seriously. I have high expectations and they seem to rise to the challenge most of the time. There are always bumps in that road. I know that when they were younger my life was pretty lonely. The last three years I have learned that the reason that my mom was always helping others was that it is very rewarding. Yes it is a lot of work for me to manage subbing nearly full time, creating beautiful quilts for others when I receive orders, volunteering when the kids ask or their teachers do, then also volunteering in the community through the Historical Society and other areas. I sometimes don't get much sleep. I sometimes am very exhausted. All of that really is less important when you factor in touching the life of a child or another adult. As I reflect on this Mother's Day I have so much to be thankful for. A supporting husband, three loving children and a community that is very supporting. I am also thankful to a mother who was such an inspiration to me through her daily walk with Christ for without that much of this would not seem very worthwhile. My stovetop is always a huge issue. Everything sticks to it. Even water leaves marks. I love that this cleaner helped with that. We did leave it sit a while and it helped a lot. I really need to assign this as a chore for one of the boys. The white part of the stove came clean immediately. We let the cleaner sit a bit for the areas around the burner. It is nice that it is gentle to use and will not damage the surface.

We did have to use a razor blade to scrape the rest of it off, but it helped loosen everything so that we could do that. I think this is the best detergent smell for my quilts and sheets. I love the smell when it comes out of the wash and onto my bed.
