Thankful Thursday

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Matthew 6:26

I am thankful for Provision this week. Provision of crops from our garden, we have eaten produce several nights this week from what we are growing and it has helped us not to buy these items since money is extremely tight. In fact we purchased more zucchini seeds so that we might plant some more crop and then freeze the produce to last through the winter months. I am thankful also for the black netting my husband had for another area since deer decided to still some of our crops this week. It seems the netting is helping out some. I am super thankful for all my husbands hard work and that we are using this for quality time most nights by watering together.

I am thankful that we had funds to be able to finally file the paper work to correct the spelling on Mekenzei's name. It seems silly that it got all confused but what a pain it has been these last 12 years. Now that she is old enough to really care I am thankful the paperwork is in the mail, and hope it will soon be a memory of the past. She decided she wanted it MeKenzei, notice the K is capitalized, I would not have thought to do that.

I am thankful that I also filed paperwork for unclaimed property today. It seems that when I was in college when Jakob was little I had some funds left in my account and I never claimed them. I am hoping the letters that I provided showing an address, all replies from state legislators/ the president of the U.S. (Bill Clinton)  will suffice, since I could not locate a electric or water bill for nearly 15 years ago. It would be a tremendous help if we got that $750 minus the 3% fee they charge to process it. I am thankful I did the filing myself instead of dealing with someone else who wanted to take profit from such findings. Please pray that Texas Comptroller accepts everything and that this check will be processed, with Jakob's needing braces it would help out tremendously with what i will make the month of June teaching.

I am thankful the pool is set up and that the kids are enjoying it. I pray the Lord will provide the money for that water bill that will come next month. I am sure it will be a doosey.

I am thankful that friends are posting  about my quilts and spreading my name and information around. It is wonderful to see people supporting me and having faith in my work.

I am thankful for the Pop show and Mekenzei's solo. I am excited to see her blossom and can't wait to support her. I am also thankful she is nearly my size because she needed a purple shirt and she didn't have one, well I did and it fits pretty well. A little part of me was saddened by that fact too.

I am thankful that I nearly have Jakob's quilt done. It sure was one of those that I had to really think on in order to finish. It seemed so impossible. I wish my mom could see it, I think it has been the most difficult one I have ever done. She would have been so amazed at the outcome. She did see the center piece and I remember how much she liked it.

This week has left me much to be thankful for, as another chapter of our lives is about to close with the school year wrapping up, I am really looking forward to a new chapter. I am looking forward to the summer and the hardwork that we will put in to school and the house/yard. Mostly I am looking forward to the time and memories we will create once again.

  1. Whew! I feel like I have not talked to you in weeks! I love those beautiful vegetables! Our garden is starting to grow, we won't have much, but I know we will enough what we do get. We are looking forward to school being out. We have not opened our pool yet. I dread that! I love the water but not that bill either! We have had several blessings come our way this week. Email me and I will tell you about them.
