New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve at the Well's House

Our Menu consisted of lots of fried foods. Chicken Tenders, okra, zucchini, onion rings, french fries, pickle slices, jalapenos and probably something else I am forgetting. We had got the kids a couple bottles of sparkling cider to enjoy with our meal.

Then we played a game of Phase 10- this was Zekaryah's choice- we had to persuade Jakob to play and Mekenzei and I were a team since she really didn't understand the game yet, and neither of us felt very good. After tonight we realized we really need to get a couch or at least a chair. the loveseat just doesn't work as well anymore for a family of 5

Paul and Pilsner- Pilsner wanted some attention and we got this picture of Paul being a goof ball along with it. Too cute
Paul had won a couple of hands and Jakob was way behind. This did not make him happy. He was writing/drawing on a page- GAME OVER. He really wanted to quit. Seems he is not a happy looser. He did enjoy the game off and on though, so I am glad he just continued playing.

And the winner was Zekaryah- He did really good. He is still trying to get the hang of the game but it was neat to see him beat Paul, since Paul kicked our butts in Yahtzee the night before- only because he scored two Yahtzee's during the game, otherwise I think Mekenzei would have won.
After the game the kids and Paul went outside to enjoy a handful of fireworks. We did not buy much. We were blessed though as the lady at the stand gave us three goody bags- one for each kid. They contained some little tiny firework stuff, some candy  and some smoke bombs. It was so nice of her to do that. It rounded the evening well. Then they all came back in and we watched Kindergarten cop. Of course by that time I fell asleep.
