Thankful Thursday

This week we have much to be thankful for. We are in the middle of a crazy winter weather storm. I am thankful for the electric blankets we own and the warm jackets my children have. I am thankful that the truck my husband is driving has heat for his long drive in to work each day. I am thankful that my husband made sure we were stocked on wood to get us through Friday night as we experienced a power outage for several hours (6+) yesterday. I am thankful schools were understanding and we were able to get our kids yesterday since they did not have any power- I am praying the high school reconsiders the absence policy so that my oldest can still have perfect attendance despite him going home early. I am most thankful for the time I had with all three kiddos and the two dogs snuggled in my bed trying to stay warm and then the cardboard my husband placed over the den windows Tuesday night. Our house is still very cold hanging on by a thread at a chilly 35 degrees but I know without that cardboard the temps outside and inside would match and since it is hitting below 20 degrees I will take the thirties any day. I am thankful to know that THIS TOO SHALL PASS, and spring is ahead. The Lord was so wise to provide us with four seasons as I can't imagine living in winter all year long. May you stay warm and safe wherever you are through this winter storm that has hit our nation.
