Purex Fresh Mountain Breeze Crystals Coupon and Sweepstakes

I love the simplicity of Purex Crystals for the laundry. I love that I can add the amount that I desire so that my clothes and towels are not too fragrant but if I need a little more than I can add a little more to the load. I have an example of needing a little more long lasting scent- that is my bedding and the dogs bedding.
We have acquired two new great danes, the first was an abandoned dog that a friend found. He escaped after the first night and my children were devastated. This same friend came across another great dane which we decided to take in. A few days later the stray wandered up. So after a couple of weeks of coaxing and nearly a month of loving on him we have four dogs. That can be quite a handful and boy can it create a smelly room.
I love these crystals. They last much longer than liquid fabric softener and help me not have a home that smells like I am raising a pack of dogs.
Purex is not only allowing me to give out 3 coupons but they are holding a sweepstakes
One grand prize winner will receive $500 and 100 additional winners will receive a coupon for a free bottle of NEW Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze. Purex Crystals go in at the start of the wash and infuses your clothes with freshness that lasts for not just days but weeks!

Mother's Day Coupon Giveaway for Mas Detergent from Purex

Happy Mother's Day

This is an unusual coupon giveaway. I have four $1 off coupons for Mas Detergent. This is made by Henkel, the mother company that makes Purex detergent. They sell a version for Darks and Whites. I have FOUR coupons to giveaway for this lovely Mother's Day. First let me explain the picture. My daughter just had her 13th birthday and she is very much into wolves lately. I found a vendor on ETSY and purchased her some wolf shirts. However, I had ordered two white and 3 black, well she got all black. When you have these graphic shirts made they require a tad bit more care. You have to turn them inside out and then with black it is nice to have a detergent that will help them from fading since it is especially made for the clothing color. It was the perfect detergent for her new items.
Mas Detergent is hosting a Mother's Day Sweepstakes. It seems a little misleading because it says Hispanic Mother's so I went through and read the fine print just to make sure- anyone can enter to win. I know my family could use $1000 and I am sure yours could too so go to this link and enter to win- it will be one of the options for the rafflecopter too.

When I was a child I didn't really dream about being a mother. I dreamt of being a mother to lots of other mother's children. I wanted to be in the community helping children and seniors have a better life. To be a role model and an inspiration. My mom volunteered a lot when I was young and she always really tried to be there for people. It has almost been three years without her come June 2013 and not a day goes by that I don't wish I could pick up the phone and call her. She is my inspiration for a lot of what I do in life. I seem to take on huge mountains of opportunity. Recently I ran our town's Depot Day. It was a huge task but I was up for the challenge. So many people criticized my efforts and desires and many said they didn't understand. I seem to be getting that same reaction lately every time I volunteer for anything- from game nights at school to running the 8th grade off campus Tshirts since our school did not have them this year and I had enough students, teachers and parents interested. My life is very different than what I imagined it to be. I have three children of my own- something no one could have told me would come to be and I would have believed it. I take the role of their mother very seriously. I have high expectations and they seem to rise to the challenge most of the time. There are always bumps in that road. I know that when they were younger my life was pretty lonely. The last three years I have learned that the reason that my mom was always helping others was that it is very rewarding. Yes it is a lot of work for me to manage subbing nearly full time, creating beautiful quilts for others when I receive orders, volunteering when the kids ask or their teachers do, then also volunteering in the community through the Historical Society and other areas. I sometimes don't get much sleep. I sometimes am very exhausted. All of that really is less important when you factor in touching the life of a child or another adult. As I reflect on this Mother's Day I have so much to be thankful for. A supporting husband, three loving children and a community that is very supporting. I am also thankful to a mother who was such an inspiration to me through her daily walk with Christ for without that much of this would not seem very worthwhile. I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day.

Soft Scrub Advanced Surface Cleaner Coupon Giveaway

Enter the Giveaway for Soft Scrubs New Advanced Surface Cleaner
My stovetop is always a huge issue. Everything sticks to it. Even water leaves marks. I love that this cleaner helped with that. We did leave it sit a while and it helped a lot. I really need to assign this as a chore for one of the boys. The white part of the stove came clean immediately. We let the cleaner sit a bit for the areas around the burner. It is nice that it is gentle to use and will not damage the surface.
PhotobucketWe did have to use a razor blade to scrape the rest of it off, but it helped loosen everything so that we could do that. I am curious to see how it will help with just a couple of days grime instead of a longer period of time. Make sure you enter the giveaway for $1000 "Don't Worry Be Happy Sweepstakes"

Purex Natural Elements Tropical Splash Detergent Coupon Giveaway

Purex Natural Elements has a delightful smell and I you could win one of three coupons to try it yourself!
I think this is the best detergent smell for my quilts and sheets. I love the smell when it comes out of the wash and onto my bed. It seems like I don't get much sleep these days but one thing that is very important to me every night is my bedding. We have two dogs and they sleep with us at night so sadly I change our bedding two to three times a week. It also means that I need a detergent that will get that bedding clean.  This detergent is hypoallergenic and dye free, that is a huge blessing to me since I suffer from eczema. This time of year that rash and dryness becomes a bigger issue. The strong winds every day, the change in season.. I find my skin is more sensitive then ever and the detergent I wash my clothes and sheets with is highly important so that I don't further irritate my skin and allergies.

Coupon Savings at Kroger

I am thankful for another successful Kroger shopping trip. I am thankful because it is helping our food storage to grow and with all three kids home this summer we will need it to help balance out the extra food cost each week.
I found a score on the Purex this week, they were closing out the purple bottled ones at $2.08 and I had $1 off coupons. They only had 5 bottles left so I got one regular since I had six coupons, but it was a great savings at just over $1 a bottle.
I had a coupon for a free pint of bluebell icecream, that was nice- we had it as dessert for our date night Friday evening.
Another great steal was the Tide- I had a coupon for $1, I had loaded ecoupons from two sites one for $3 and one for .50 cents. so with the box at $5.98 on sale this week it made it super cheap and I can extend the savings by combining with some borax and A & H washing soap.
So my total cost was $73, and my savings were $78. I didn't originally plan to buy anymore toilet paper or the extra purex but with great sales it made the savings worthwhile, even if it bummed up my grocery bill a tad.

Tackle it Tuesday

Today I tackled a lot. First was my fear of new places and uncomfortable situations. I had to go to a tire and lube place to get an oil change and a tire fixed. I had never been there before so it made me very uncomfortable. Needless to say I took my devotional and Paul's small carry bible and sat in the waiting area until they were done. It wasn't too bad. I did think my heart would come out of my chest, but as I did my bible study my spirit calmed. I did find that the tire lining was ruined but thankfully they did prorate the tires so it was not as bad, still $83 though.
Then I hit Kroger, got some more tuna packets for the kids lunches, some more free milk by buying the Kellogg's 4 for $10- with coupons and then also got 4 things of blistex for free, 6 things of green giant veggies for free and some cookies- Oreo I might add for free off my free milk purchase, pretty nice. On the way in I found a $10 Catalina someone threw on the ground for Walgreen's, so I can use that with the $2 one I already had. I just need to find a great deal to spend the $12 on.
I also got paid for a set of Potholders I figured I was doing for free, that was a nice surprise. Made up for some of the free stuff I am donating for a Baking Basket for a grade that neither of my children are even in. The towels above are for that basket and that is the last of my tackle it Tuesday, which somewhere between oil/tires and groceries I ran home, unloaded the food, ran out the door hit McD's for a hamburger and coke, then to a PTO meeting, then home to help with homework and to do the towels. Hoping to still get dinner made, more homework done and a set of potholders before the night is through. Then just maybe some sleep :-)

Coupon Saturday

First we stopped at Food Basket twice this week and took advantage of the free 4 lb sugar coupon.. I love their free items every week and am very thankful to my friend Pam who always gives me hers, then my friend Diane does when she remembers. It really helps us out.
Tonight after church which was amazing- Rick Warren's music leader came and led worship tonight, pretty awesome, anyway we stopped at Kroger.
I had 4 coupons for Star Kist Tuna packets- at $1 and the sale of $1 all 4 were free
Carefree liners were also $1 and again I had a coupon for $1 so it was free
They had their Kelloggs/Keebler sale of 4 for $10 I had 1 coupon for Townhouse crackers $2/2
Then 2 coupons for $1/1 on another cracker they sale- so my $10 now becomes $6 and I got two free gallons of milk with the deal which rang up at $2.38 each. I felt really good about that. I will do it again on Tuesday - but with Kelloggs cereal instead
I also took advantage of the Prego Heart Smart 2 for $4, then a coupon for $1 each, so made them $1 each.

My Closeout Items were in the Female aisle
I was excited to have brought in my household binder-it is for soap, toothpaste etc.. I almost didn't because it was not on my list.
I got 8 various Kotex/Stayfree items. I had coupons for all of them and a thing of Monistat on clearance $10.79 with a $3 coupon...all for about $15- I was pretty excited, a couple of the bags of Kotex were on clearance for $1.97 and I had a $1 off for both of them. I wiped out all my coupons on the page with the closeouts they were having.

Another good find was Chewable Vitamin C, they were BOGO, I had 2 $1 off coupons, so for two bottles I paid $4
With the 10 for $10 I also had coupons for Knorr Pasta so I got 4 of those
A bottle of Ketchup for 1.59- I now have 4 so that will get us through a whole year stockpile wise.
I allowed each of the kids to get a pint of BlueBell Icecream since they were 10/$10
and I bought myself a Newspaper and a bottle of my favorite juice- Strawberry Cranberry- which only Kroger seems to make anymore.
Oh and we had to make an unexpected by of posterboard thankfully it was only. 52cents
I felt I did pretty good. With the Mega Sale find on female items a while ago, I think I am not set for a year, as long as our daughter does not start anytime soon.

So the real breakdown...
MFG CPN 25.70
Kroger Plus Savings 28.24
Total coming to 53.94
Then I spent 51.45.. I was pretty excited but 1.45 over what I wanted- granted the kids were not supposed to get the icecream- that was a DAD approved expense.

Kroger Deals for this week

There are not as many deals that I will use this week at Kroger this week, maybe it is more that we don't typically buy as many of the items on sale this week. There is one that I am very excited about. The StarKist Tuna packages. These are great for my daughters lunch, sometimes the boys take them. I found a way to print 4 coupons for $1 off then I just ordered 10 of the $1/2 from My Coupon Hunter. She is super quick at turning around orders so I will get them in plenty of time to shop before Tuesday when the sale is over. I will make two trips this week to ensure I get my free Tuna and Free Green Giant Veggies. Kelloggs Deal buy any 4 for $10 and get 2 free Gallon of milk, I will do this at least once but maybe twice, we easily go through 4 gallons of milk in a week.

Starkist Tuna Pouch from there site here 10/$10
Coupon from My Coupon Hunter Here
Green Giant Veggies 10/$10
Blistex 35 cents off 1 from My Coupon Hunter Here
BlueBell Pint IceCream 10/$10
Louisianna Fish Fry also from My Coupon Hunter- will be in this weeks paper in SS
Kelloggs Items- Coupons.com, ss various weeks, also this week they have some kind of snack in the ss, and I got some free from the store from their SS box
Redplum also has one you can print here
(this included 2 dif cereal coupons, Keebler cracker coupon and a Kelloggs snack coupon- all in the 4/$10 sale)

I might purchase some Totinos Pizzas, Pace Salsa, Pepperridge Farm Garlic Bread and Prego Spaghetti Sauce, it depends I have coupons for everything but the Pizza, but we only have $50 to work with this week. Just depends on how well my other savings are I guess.

Happy Shopping and Deals.. Really do give My Coupon Hunter a look - esp if you are specific to your items. Depending on the coupon savings depends on the handling fee of the coupon, then it is just 45 cents to ship first class. I spent less then $2 this week and got at least $12 in savings (off sale prices)

Shopping Day Saturday

I think Saturdays may become my normal shopping day. The store is a little more crowded but it just seems to fit in my schedule better for now. This week I just went to Kroger. I did not find that I needed anything at Walmart this week. Kroger's had a Mega Sale and it was full of really good deals, even if you did not have coupons for some of the items. Like Rotel- at 40 cents a can. You just can't beat that. We eat a lot of queso around here and love Rotel for things like enchiladas so I stocked up. Another item I stocked up on was Kraft cheese. I had 5 coupons for $1 off 2. That meant I got 10 bags for $1 each. Great deal. I had a BOGO for Always products- 2 of those. What was nice was she gave me the org price of $3+ for the second one so instead of the sale price of $2.49 for each first product I got them for an additional $1 off. Making 4 Always products $1.49 each. I was highly impressed. Another item I did really well on was I can't believe its not butter. I must admit I tend to be pretty loyal to brand. This is not one I would generally buy. However, it is really hard to pass up a sale for 99 cents on the two pack when you have a $1 off coupon.
I feel I did pretty good. I do not have pictures this week as honestly all but the cold food is still in the bags. We still do not have our side room finished so I can't even put all the food away. The table from last week still has last weeks food on it. I think we might try to just put it all in containers for now since my husband will probably have overtime all week and not get to it until next weekend. It is a pretty funny site to start a stockpile and have so much food and no where for it to all go. I miss the old days of having a pantry in my kitchen.
So the breakdown
I paid 105.27- included 2 papers
MFG savings 43.82
Bonus Coupons 4.00
Kroger Plus $85.05
Total Savings $132.87

Not too bad. I must admit my cashier was the best yet. I handed her this forever stack of coupons and she laid them in two piles and pulled them one at a time. She would even print the receipt- which she did three times to make sure coupons scanned. She was so highly impressed. However the very nice but young bagging person said even though I saved so much she would rather not go to all the work. I'd like to see her unemployed and with three kids then see how she feels :-) For me it is worth every penny we saved. I just hope I can get even better at it because I only had the $100 to play with this week due to a quilt sale. Normally our weekly budget for food is more like $20-40. Pretty hard to feed a family of five on that.

Oh and we bought $10 in rotel items so I will submit my receipt to get $25 in savings back from ConAgra Foods.

BrookShire Brothers Jan 27 Feb 2 Sale Ad

This is for prices for Brookshire Brothers in the Katy, New Caney, Magnolia and Montgomery Stores only.. when I was in coupon class last night I heard that there may not be anyone that compiles a list of current sales with coupons so I will try to do that for you. Honestly I still use Krogers more, but because Brookshire Brothers is literally on my way to and from the kids school, or my husbands work- I do not mind stopping in for the couple deals they have, esp if I have coupons.

Initially there may be an item on sale that I do not know a coupon source for because my coupon information for sources on things is pretty slim at this point. As I keep more inserts etc week to week that should grow.

Progresso Vegetable Soup 5 for $5 makes it a $1 a can
-$.50/2 1/17 SS
- $.75/2 (Simple & Affordable)
= $0.25 for 2
11-15-09 General Mills

Skinner Pasta Spaghetti or Elbow 24 oz bag 99 cents each.

Kelloggs Cereal Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks, Corn Pops or Frosted Flakes 3 for $5 Limit 3 with $10 purchase.
01-03-10 RedPlum 1
12-13-09 RedPlum

Totino's Crispy Crust Pizza 88 cents Limit 8 with ad'$10
My children eat alot of these so I will probably get the Limit of 8, 88cents is a pretty good price

Gain Laundry Soap- $3.99 57-73 oz box Limit 2 with ad' $10

Betty Crocker Brownie Mix 18.3- 19.9 oz 88 cents.

This week that is pretty much it. Not many deals..and lots of limits.

If you want to purchase any of these coupons- handling fee purchase, you can try CouponsThingsbyDede

Coupon Class

I feel like all my hard work over the past few months has truly been blessed. I happened to be with a friend at a meeting last week and her friend told her about this coupon class, that was today. I am so excited that this GOD ORDAINED information was passed to me and that I lept at it. I learned so much tonight. For example one mistake I make is using more than 3 coupons on a triple or double item. For example if I have 4 coupons for Grands Biscuits, for when they have the sale 10 for $10...and I buy 12 like I normally do, I do not get that triple on that 4th coupon. I only get it on the first three. Does that make sense. It did to me. It was a light bulb moment. I thought about this past shopping trip. I thought I should have had at least $5 more in savings.. that is why. My double and triple on a few items never happened, it was at face value only. Now I am not saying that you only get three triple coupons per shopping trip, it is per item. So if you have it for Grand biscuits you can use three, get triple savings, then if you have it for Mustard you can also use three and get triple savings..Good INFO!
Now I already knew one fact that I love, and have testified to happening. You can use your manufactured coupon with an uploaded coupon to your card like Kroger. For example CellFire or Shortcuts.Com.. They not only give you the manufactured discount on the item but they give you the loaded coupon too. Now the catch with the loaded coupon is you only get one, even if you use three manufactured ones..
I did also learn that Walmart- like I thought really does not have the true savings they claim if you are looking to shop using coupons and sales. I truly found that the case this week when I shopped both places. There were a couple items that I knew were cheaper at Walmart but my savings were not even close comparison wise. I now realize that I will be cutting coupons for things like razors etc and putting them in a binder to then watch for later sales that Kroger will have. I never thought to buy things like Shampoo and stuff there. I glance at prices but always find it is still cheaper at Walmart. That is because I am not watching the sales close enough.
Anyway there is too much info to put into one Blog but I will start next week trying to break it all down as I would love to inspire others to also take the plunge and clip those coupons, plan your menus and save that money!
I am very excited to see that my husband got the kids homework finished up, dishes were finished (i had most of them done before I left) and they were ready for bed by the time I made it home after ten tonight. He was so supportive when I was jumping up and down (not literally- but inside) over the fact that I won a bag full of coupons tonight. A free class and I walk away with money! Wow... so wonderful as there is a HUGE Mega Sale at Kroger this weekend. The Lord truly is amazing. He opened some doors today for me that will possibly truly help me stay at home and just sale quilts so that I can continue to be with our children, the way that HE intended for a woman to be. That makes me very warm inside.

Small Town Store Trip

The last two stops I made were very quick. The first was Food Basket. They have a free item every week that we take advantage of. This week was a 4 pk of toilet paper. Then they had a coupon for 2 cans of Tuna- Starfish for .29 cents I believe. That is all I got..so my bill was .58 cents.
My friend Pam gave me one of these pages from the Chronicle Wed ad we get in the mail, so now I can send Paul in tomorrow with .60 cents to do it again. I am thankful he does not mind.

Last trip was another local store Brookshire Brothers. They had Trix cereal 2 for $4. I tried to price match at Walmart but it was not the same price, and Krogers was higher so- I made the stop. Its not far from the house, so not really a big deal. I had two coupons each $1 off. I paid exactly $2 for both boxes and then a coupon printed out for $1.50 off 3 boxes. I have a coupon right now for .55 cents so I will go back tomorrow and pick up 4 more boxes.. I like to store house cereal because I often cook things the kids will not eat.

Walmart Shopping Trip

This trip I made because I had some bagel coupons for $1 off the purchase of 2. They cost $1.37 normally. I also had a coupon for Kraft Cheese, always a wonderful find. Walmart has the cheapest price right now on that too. My friend Pam had given me a fish stick coupon, which is great because that is a meal Zekaryah wanted for his birthday week. Classico was also cheaper at Walmart, even cheaper this week then what I normally buy and I had one of those buy $2 get so much off on that as well. I was so excited to use so many printed coupons at Walmart. Usually I don't have much for there because the sale at Kroger's will cover the items I need. This week that was not the case. I even was able to get some dishwasher soap- which I will stretch out with the Borax and Washing Soda.
I did ask them to price match on the Progresso soups- Randall's had them for $1.11 - Walmart's price was $1.50 and I had coupons that varied for all the cans I purchased. She did that without hesitation. Then Paul needed green tomatoes so I asked her to match the price in produce. Again she was wonderful so we got the tomatoes, onion and jalapenos for 59 cents a lb instead of Walmarts price which was at least 30 cents more a lb.
So full price items on this trip were the chips, face scrub, milk, manicure set, green onions, cream cheese, limes, garlic, then two detergents, otherwise I used coupons.
My savings outside of price matching was $9.60 cents. Not great but not bad...money saved is money saved.

Kroger's Shopping Trip

I started with Kroger's this week because I had some coupons that worked with the 10 for $10 sale they were hosting this week. I also saw a couple things in the ad that I was interested such as Stayfree/Carefree for $2.49 and then I had a coupon for $1 off. I also had a couple coupons for Wheaties Cereal- the new one called Fuel, and they had it on sale. I am thankful to my friend Pam who gave me a couple of Pillsbury coupons. It helped me get 9 for less than I would have spent, as the only 10 for $10 this week were the smaller ones and I didn't have 3 coupons total for that. I took advantage of a couple of sales in addition to coupons and the 10 for $10 and did really well this week, not as good as a month ago though, I had so many more coupons on that trip.
Breakdown of how I did
MFG Cpn $14.05
Bonus Cpn $1.95
Kroger plus savings 26.41
Total coupons $42.36
I spent $62.86 more than i wanted to but I stocked up on some can soup and pineapple. Neither of which I had coupons for. Bummer as I did have Campbell's coupons a month ago, but they are now expired. :-( I was still pleased. I got one of the packages of Carefree for .19 plus tax...I had a coupon for $1 off a package I was buying that I already had a coupon for $1 for.. I just simply peeled it off that package, picked up a different one that was for $1.19 and then it came to .19 cents. A great find... one side note I did have to pay full price for two items- the cranberry juice. I didn't have juice coupons and I really do like the Cran-Straw that Kroger's sells- they are the only place I can ever find it. So for me I am willing to fork over the 1.99 each. Then I also did pick up a Sunday Paper so that was an additional $2. I need to look into getting that cheaper somewhere.
