Thank you to so many new followers who helped me pass my goal of 53 followers in honor of my mother who passed away on July 17 2010. One of her favorite quilting designs was the pinwheel.
She loved Amish History, literature and books. Her favorite authors were Beverly Lewis,Wanda Brunstetter, Amy Clipston, Cindy Woodsmall etc. She was very proud of my quilting business and the leap of faith I took to become a stay at home mother so I could be active in our children's lives, knowing that I could make some side money by using my talents to sew for others.
The very last thing I made her was the above bag. We conversed on facebook and email daily. We talked on the phone often. She was able to see the bag via pictures but it arrived the day before she passed away. She had already been admitted into the hospital. So she never held it in her hands, sometimes that makes me sad. I am thankful for technology and that she KNEW of this precious gift she had desired and of my craftsmanship in it.
