Tackle it Tuesday

I have been promoting my facebook page for my quilting business and my blog
In order to drum up some more followers I have given some items away. My first giveaway was for this set of towels and potholders. She has an apple themed kitchen so I found this really cute fabric. I am hoping she loves it.

This is a giveaway on my quilting page on facebook for someone who promoted my page and had her sent followers comment that She had directed them my way. I made these cute holiday towels for her.
The winner of the actual giveaway for 300 followers that night will get a custom made pillowcase in Penguin fabric with her daughter's name on it. I am still waiting for that fabric to arrive. So stay tuned.

Don't forget to promote my pages I am giving away a quilted wall hanging when my facebook page hits 500 and a pinwheel quilt when my Blog followers reach 53 in honor of my mother's age when she passed away July 2010.

The Frustrating Life of Computers

Sometimes I am so frustrated by computers. I just recently requested that my Blog be made over.
I wanted tabs and a blog button with a code etc. I am so excited that Becoming a Strong Woman for God led me to Traci at Ordinary Inspirations she also has a facebook page
So what do you think?
I think she did an incredible job. I really love it.
I could not figure out the tabs/pages on the Blogs.
I wanted a code button and I could not seem to figure that out either.
I wanted a header that was more about me, what I stand for, why I blog.

The frustrating part- she has this cute little quilted looking border with the maple leaves on the side- I can't see it on my computer. I was able to see it last night on my son's. I have tried everything. I reinstalled FireFox. I cleared my caches and cookies. NADA. It just shows up white across the entire screen. I am a tad upset that I can't see the beauty of my Blog in its entirety. I hope to figure out what setting is blocking that. Other blogs I visit have their cute little borders, so that tells me it is not my settings overriding it.

Another frustrating aspect today. I wanted to have my Blog posted on facebook. I have been working on it this morning. I have yet to get my graphic the size that Facebook requires. I can't seem to directly import without using Network Bloggers either, but I know many of you do. I feel like nowadays with all the HTML codes, RSS feed etc you need a class to get anything done.

So to show you the kind of morning I have had. I just noticed that my PJ bottoms have been on backwards since I took the kids to school today. LOL!!!
I guess they are just one of those pair of pants. Maybe on that note its time to shower, make enchiladas for dinner and work on my new Quilt Sampler.

Lemonade Award

Today Rita from Following 31 gave me the Lemonade Award for my Fridays Post on "What Am I Learning Friday." I wrote about taking time for one another. I have just started this Blog "Growth in God" and within a week had to put it on hold just a bit because of a death in the family, and then recovering my household from being gone a week. It is amazing what us moms get done and how when we are gone things get all out of sorts. This week I still am trying to recover as my family has been hit with a virus. My oldest is home recovering from a fever of 103.4 from last night, and I have that throat, ear, eye thing going on. So this was a very Blessed Award and I am ever grateful. I appreciate everyone who reads my posts and that it blesses or encourages them in some way.

There are some rules to this award so let me post those...

1. Put the logo on your blog or post.

2. Nominate at least 10 blogs that show attitude and/or gratitude.

3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.

4. Let them know they have received this award by commenting on a post.

5. Nominate your favorites and link to this blog.
I must admit that I do not have 10 Blogs to Nominate, but I do have a few.
I hope you will visit these blogger's, it is amazing what we can learn from one another, how we can be encouraged and inspired in fellowship with one another.
As for me personally for Growth In God, I hope to be back up and running soon. It is exhausting being sick while caring for members of my house who are sick, but God has some amazing healing powers- I can't complain as I have an excuse to watch movies with the kids and spend some one on one time with them. Down time is nice.
