Breast Cancer Quilt

This was a donation quilt for a teacher at the local high school. She has breast cancer and I wanted to provide her with something that would remind her of all the love and prayer for her from her fellow co workers. They presented it to her and she really loved it. I love the backing. I wish I could find some more of it.

16 Tshirt Quilt

The customer chose this very pretty yellow fabric to border her quilt. I had a matching charcoal gray flannel for the back and I found a nice gray yellow cream fabric with a larger print that worked perfectly for the binding. She loved her new quilt.
Her feedback "Fabulous quilt! Jenn is so talented and turned this quilt around very quickly for me! She was also very helpful in picking fabrics that really made my quilt come together. I would definitely order from her again!"

Just Because Quilt

The customer sent me the fabric squares, they were various pieces of fabric in different sizes and I cut blocks to make the same size squares. I then bordered them with a gray fabric to match the gray flannel she had chosen for the backing. I had some leftover gray, yellow and cream fabric from another quilt that was a perfect match for the binding. This made a nice sized lap quilt

Depot Day

I am very excited to be chairing this years Depot Day in Magnolia. I wanted to make it a little more old fashioned so I am having some wonderful people help me create some old fashioned games. The Depot was the center of this little town many years ago. Without the train line this town may never have become what it has. Therefore some of the games will have a train theme. It will take lots of work to create each of these games, it will also take many volunteers. I wish my mom was here, I know she would have had so many ideas! The 20th Annual Depot Day will be April 20th, 2013 from 10-5 this year. Please pray for it to be a huge success.

I have some great ideas on pinterest as well.

Coupon for Dry Idea up to 6 oz

Enter to win the Giveaway for a coupon for Dry Idea up to 6 0z valued at $5.50

I find that winter months are unbearable deodorant wise. I have to switch them up frequently because I get lots of itching and rash from eczema. I was a little worried about trying the new Dry Idea deodorant. I have not itched at all in 2 weeks and I do not have a rash. I have even shaved a few times and still no issues. I am very pleased. I work with Life Skills students and I admit I sweat a lot. I am so thankful to have a deodorant that can withstand my demanding job. I have even worked outside and still it protects me well from any body odor. It is definitely hypoallergenic and I have not had any problems with residue or build up. I highly recommend this product. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Giveaway for a free 28 ox Bottle of Purex Crystals for Baby Coupon

Giveaway for a Free 28 oz bottle of Purex Crystals for Baby Coupon value at $6.00
I loved the Tropical Purex Crystals but I think this is my new all time favorite. My children are in their teens now but I remember loving that Baby Smell. My favorite way to use these new Purex Crystals is for our blankets. There is just something about a clean set of sheets, blankets and a quilt on a bed when you go to sleep at night. These crystals help make that experience complete. I also love that it has a light fragrance so I don't end up with a headache all day if I use it on our clothes or towels. Sometimes I have that experience with laundry detergents, fabric softeners and soaps. You should give this new scent a try, I am sure you will love it. As always Purex provided me with a sample of Purex Crystals for Baby in exchange for my product review. However, all the opinions expressed here are my own. a Rafflecopter giveaway

12 T Shirt Cheer Quilt

A lap quilt for a customer. She had 12 shirt squares and 10 appliques
This is actually a lightweight sweater

This was a front and back of a shirt that I made into one square and did some fancy stitching on to tie into the fabric color

This is an example of all those appliques, on other shirts, on top of the quilt itself. It included sweat pants, a warm up suit etc.

I think it is a great lap quilt and something a little different

Quilted Wallhanging for a Teacher friend

I made this beautiful wallhanging for a teacher friend. She had recently moved back and was hired at a local school after Christmas Break. I lent her some fabric for a bulletin board and then had a crazy idea to make her a wallhanging for her room since they are a college bound campus. I am glad she had something easy because I had lunch with her one afternoon, got the idea, ran got the fabric and then gave it to her completed the next morning. I am grateful she got me a picture because I was in such a rush to get it to her the next morning that I completely forgot. We love her so much. She knows all three of my kiddos and we would consider her family any day.

The Start of a New Year 2013

It  has been a very long time since I blogged. I found it difficult to keep up with blogging while trying to quilt, sub teach, take care of kids and their schedules/homework etc. I don't know that life has ever been quite so busy as this year. It shows me what three years from now will look like when my younger two are both in their Junior year. I cannot believe how demanding the junior year of school is.
We have finally gotten to the chimney and remodel of the side of the house is started. Its amazing how different things are. I can already tell a little difference in our ability to retain some heat in our home.
I find that I really want to make sure for 2013 we change a few things. Figure out how to purge some of our belongings so that we can be better caretakers of the inside of the house. All exercise more so that we can be fit. Get back into church on Sunday mornings.. that requires us to find a new church home. Take more pictures of moments that may not seem important as I notice time is going quickly and we have such a short time left with the kids and I miss out on quite a bit picture wise. Then there are some minor things with doing more repairs and paying down debt.
This is how we started our pictures for 2013, it was a lot of fun..
