Wordless Wednesday

This is an activity I would like to see more of. I fight him to read constantly. It pleased me greatly to see this yesterday after taking my oldest son driving. The dog was happy to have the attention too.

Wordless Wednesday

Every time it rains I get this or more in the chimney. I can't wait until we can take the rest of it down outside and seal up the wall. We got so much rain today I thought for sure that the bedroom floor would be full of water. I woke up several times to check. I am thankful the Lord held the trenches outside.

Wordless Wednesday

These little guys started hatching a few days early. They were supposed to start hatching today but instead started on the 19th. They are super cute guinea hens

You can't really tell but this little collection is 24 guinea hen! I am thankful to a friendly family a couple miles from us that provided us with these eggs. Now we need to work at getting a gate up to prevent the dogs from behind us from getting into a yard and then also keeping our dogs out of the free range area they will have

Wordless Wednesday not so Wordless

Radishes out of our Garden. YUM! Of course I am the only one that likes them.
Radishes are a great source of vitamin C and are rich in minerals like sulphur, iron, iodine, potassium, magnesium, and folate. They can help clear your sinus cavities and soothe your sore throat. The vitamin C in radishes is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and has been shown to have a positive effect on asthma symptoms because of its anti-inflammatory properties. Potassium can help lower your risk of kidney stones and strokes, and radishes along a diet high in other fruits and vegetables can significantly lower your risk of multiple sclerosis. They help to maintain a healthy gallbladder and liver, and improve
digestion. Here is a website with more information on radishes. They are super easy to grow. I am going to have to plant some more as the rest of what we planted in the first round should be ready to eat this coming week since we have had some nice slow rainy days lately.

Wordless Wednesday

We had a batch of quail we removed from the egg turners this weekend. They were supposed to start hatching today but when my husband went to add water he noticed a chick already breaking through. By the time I went to bed we had two, this morning it increased to five. Today is when they will be really hatching so I am curious to see how many we get. It is very exciting to have new life all the time in our house. I will admit after having chickens over Easter hatch these guys looked way to small. I bet they are the size of two quarters. Very tiny, it was hard to move them.
