National Honor Society Junior Year

National Honor Society is awesome. It really helps celebrate your successful grades. I love that they get together at school for a few hours afterwards to just have some fun. What is nice this year is it was the last day of a weeks worth of testing. After all that testing its a much needed break.
Zekaryah works just as hard in class, sometimes harder as its difficult for him at times to retain information, copy it from one text to another etc. He has improved so much this year. I love how far his writing has truly come. He does an amazing job at giving time to the Lord. He is always willing to serve in any capacity he can. He works as a student leader for the ministry, he serves in the band, he works with little ones in our younger areas called Son Harbor, he also helps with sign language on stage during the music time on Sundays for the youth. He really loves this portion of serving. He is involved in Track, Cross Country, Men's Choir Ensemble at School as well as Mixed Chorale. He is BUSY~
I love hearing from other parents about how hard he works, how honest he is and just what a blessing he is in their lives. While he may not make grades enough to be in Honor Society he does an amazing job in my book.

Girls High School Choir

The High School Girls choir competed and did very well, they brought home a trophy. This would mean more a few weeks later when they found out that their teacher would take a position at another school. She would be missed.

Oldest Son's Quilt

I finally finished my oldest son's quilt this weekend. I am glad that I did, it was a nice surprise for him to come home from his State Competition for Skills USA this weekend where he won 3rd place against 26 students- to a bed with clean sheets, a new quilt and a new pillowcase that I had made.
My husband had picked out a Simpson's TV Show fabric for the back. My oldest son did not like it. So I picked out this blue flannel from my stash- its interesting that the other Tshirt quilt I made him (my very first one) has the same exact backing. The binding on the quilt is also blue.
I love this one shirt- it was the back. It truly explains my son and how hard he works for everything he has and will have in the future. Recently I had sent pictures to a coach of my middle son running Track. She said that she is appreciates the work ethic we instill in our children and that they could all three be poster children for their Cross Country/Track Motto that says Hard Work = Success
